The story starts out with a girl named Joo Yoo Rin, a Jeju Island tour guide who is very skilled in lying and loves money. She can speak Japanese, Korean and Chinese fluently. On her way to the airport to save her clients from missing their plane, she meets the young and handsome Seol Gong Chan, the manager and the heir to the Avenuel Hotel, a very big and successful hotel owned by his grandfather. Gong Chan knows a liar when he sees one and saw through Yoo Rin's lie to stall for the clients. After trying to find Gong Chan's long-lost younger cousin, he soon finds out his grandfather is in a dangerous state due to an illness and he needs a person who can pretend to be his cousin to fulfill the old man's last wish. When things get desperate, Gong Chan asks Yoo Rin (the last person he expects to ask help from) to be his younger cousin and pays her to do so. Yoo Rin expected only to meet his grandfather once, but then his grandfather recovers and Yoo Rin and Gong Chan are caught in a lie that no one knows about.

Yoo Rin also meets Seo Jeong Woo, a womaniser who is Gong Chan's friend. Things turn for the worse when Gong Chan's ex-girlfriend, Kim Sae Hyun, returns to Korea after competing in a tennis tournament and expects Gong Chan to rekindle their relationship. Gong Chan resists and turns away from the feelings that he still has for her. Yoo Rin starts to have feelings for Gong Chan, but knowing that Gong Chan still loves Sae Hyun, she instead turns away from them and even brings the two together again, even though it means her own unhappiness.

Very slowly, Jeong Woo falls for Yoo Rin and finds out Yoo Rin isn't the real cousin and gets into a neck-to-neck competition with Gong Chan. Sae Hyun also finds out soon after, and gets jealous of Yoo Rin. Gong Chan slowly falls in love with Yoo Rin and breaks up with Sae Hyun. Doing the same thing he did with Sae Hyun, he tries to get rid of his feelings for her by going to Jeju Island to manage the Jeju Island hotel, which is on the same day that Yoo Rin is introduced to the company, meaning that everybody will know that she was the long-lost cousin, which makes things even more complicated for the two. When the day of Yoo Rin's introduction to the company arrives, Gong Chan and Yoo Rin confess their feelings to each other and finally get together.

Soon after, Sae Hyun and Jeong Woo find out that they are together and the two are even more determined to try to bring them apart. The two lovers don't last very long until Sae Hyun gets very jealous and at the peak of her jealousy, she tells the truth to Gong Chan's grandfather, who banishes Yoo Rin out of the house and sends her to a foreign country, separating the two lovers.

Two years later, Gong-chan, in a random chat with Jeong-woo, raised the topic of not having seen Yoo-rin for a long time. Jeong-woo tried to make a deal between the two that if either of them sees Yoo-rin first, the winner would take Yoo-rin. Gong-chan expressed his point that the main concern was that all of them should hope to revive contact with Yoo-rin as soon as possible. At this point of time, a tourist bus containing Yoo-rin passed by their car, but neither of them managed to notice that Yoo-rin was inside, but only the name of the tourist agency, Mukgu. When they arrived at the airport, Jeong-woo, after seeing Gong-chan off, sighted Yoo-rin in the airport carpark, but could not find her after that.

On the plane, Gong-chan discovered that Yoo-rin was working as a tour guide for Mukgu, after a tourist on the plane dropped a name card bearing Yoo-rin's occupational details onto the floor, which Gong-chan picked up to see. Gong-chan subsequently took a flight back from Narita under the identity of Kim Chul-su, joining Yoo-rin's tour upon arriving in Seoul. Yoo-rin tried to hide her face in the advertisement board, but was being discovered by Gong-chan, who declared that he was Kim. Being persistent, Gong-chan pleaded with Yoo-rin to come back to him. Yoo-rin refused and even rejected the idea of tour guide-tourist relationship. In a shameless yet somewhat desperate attempt, he destroyed his credit card and demanded she helped him to repay her debt to him when they were last at Jeju Island. She promptly drove off, throwing his belongings away. Gong-chan gave chase and eventually caught her, but she shook him off at an acupuncture clinic after Gong-chan complained of rheumatism in order to restrict her tactics to shake him off. He took a taxi, and tried to find and follow Yoo-rin's car, but gave up the pursue when he realised that the meter on the taxi was approaching the amount of his only 10,000 won bill. He took a bus to Mukgu, whereby he complained to the manager that he, being a tourist group member led by Yoo-rin, was abandoned.

Gong-chan was brought back to an unwilling Yoo-rin, who had taken her tourist members for a fireworks display at a funfair. Gong-chan tried to reconcile with her, but she nonetheless avoided him whenever he approached her. Gong-chan, having run out of money, needed water, and approached Yoo-rin, pleading her to buy him a cup of water. Yoo-rin gulped her cup of water down, without even reserving a drop, and ignored him. Gong-chan emptied the cup, but managed to drink only a few drops of water.

However, it was not long before Yoo-rin became soft on her heart and was willing to rekindle her love for Gong-chan. Sadly, it was not to be as his grandfather got hold of the situation and demanded her to leave Gong-chan. The old man still regarded her as his granddaughter, the blood-related cousin to Gong-chan, and could not bear to see her in love with her 'cousin'. Not wishing for Gong-chan to tear away from his family because of her, she eventually decided to tell one final lie to end it all...

In the presence of everyone, Yoo-rin proclaimed that she had known the whereabout of the real granddaughter all along and hid the fact from Gong-chan's family, so that she could live a comfortable life as the fake one. Of course, all this is not the truth but a lie to force Gong-chan to give up on her. Gong-chan, with a heavy heart, decided to give up Yoo-rin, not because he believed her lie but because he did not want to hurt her anymore. To do so, he planned to leave his family in Seoul.

Eventually, it turned out that no one believed her lie and, in turn, her lie actually expressed her noble love for Gong-chan. Having received the blessing from Gong-chan's grandfather, Yoo-rin went about to find Gong-chan.

In the meantime, Gong-chan left for the metrological station before leaving Seoul. Yoo-rin rushed to the station as well and, by fate, met Gong-chan just as the lift door in which he was in was closing. Both of them stared at each other, before Gong-chan dragged her in. They hugged and made out with each other as the lift descended down the building.

The story ends with Gong-chan's family, including his newfound cousin and her husband. After which, Gong-chan and Yoo-rin talked about their relations, before a pink heart was being "blown" out.

RAIN: Ah! This is Jung Jihoon.
Shin, (MinAh): Hello! Shin MinAh here.
Q: Your characters in the drama?
RAIN: Yes, uh… I will be a k-1 fighter. And later I’ll be uh… in the turmoil of some misunderstanding, I’ll betray my brother and take revenge on his woman. Kang, BokGu is the name of the character I’ll play.
Shin: Yes. I’ll be Cha, EunSeok, an actress who regards love as the most important thing.

[Poster shooting]
Camera director: I hope your eyes show some sparkling.
RAIN: Not easy with my small eyes...
Camera director: (to an assistant) Bring one more light. JiHun, I cannot see your eyes.
RAIN: I’m telling you, my eyelids cover the eyes… I’m sorry for having small eyes…
Camera director: No, no. Your hair covers your eyes. That’s why I cannot see your eyes.

Q: We heard that you are doing a special physical training for the drama?
RAIN: Well, I am learning k-1 sports. You see, it’s a street fighter I’ll be playing. The one who does not have a proper train, but good at fighting. So, I am training myself to be like that.

RAIN: I think I am lucky for having beautiful partners in dramas. This time too. The partner is a very nice person, so that I am so honored. I think the drama will turn out a success.

Q: Shin, you’re lucky to have worked with handsome actors?
Shin: All the actors I worked with have been so nice that I could learn a lot from them. This drama also will give me an opportunity of learning something, I think.

RAIN: Thank you for enlisting me as a handsome actor.
The title is “This Damned Love”. It will start to air from 31 October, every Monday and Tuesday. I think it will be a drama you can watch at your cozy home this winter.

Story:
In "This Love That I Want to Kill", Bi will be playing the role of a K-1 Fighter, Kang Bok-Gu. He loves a woman whom he should not love; and his love will be of the tragic nature. At first he will start off as a K-1 fighter, but eventually he will become a popular actor/top star. However, the love he shares with the female lead will be quite tragic.
As the production of the drama "Cruel Love" came to a stop, Bi's return as an actor was postponed, as well. After Bi finishes his September concerts in Japan, he will begin shooting for the new drama.
In other news, the drama's title, "This Love That I Want to Kill" may switch to "I am Going to You". It is currently being debated.

Shin Mina (21) will be casted as "Bi's girlfriend".

The drama, "This Love That I Could Kill", which has garnered much interest and speculation after musician, Bi, signed onto the project, now has a female lead.

"This Love That I Could Kill" [PD Kim Kyu-Tae] will air in November, following the KBS drama, "Wedding", and boasts scriptwriter Lee Kyung-Hee [MISA]. The drama has already cast the popular star, Bi [Jung Ji-Hoon], and this story about a heartbreaking love has caught the attention of many.

After appearing in the drama "Ddae-Ryuh" [Punch], Shin Mina is reappearing the drama world. She has been previously portrayed as a pure and simple girl with a great deal of intelligence, as well as a cheerful demeanor, but in this upcoming production, will attempt to take on a role that will make the audience shed tears.

The character that Shin Mina will be portraying, Cha Eun-Seok, carries a mysterious aura and is a top movie star blessed with riches, fame, and popularity amongst the masses of people in Korea. Even with this fame and prosperity, she is a down-to-earth, modest, and young movie star [we're still talking about her character] with a bubbly personality. However, she has also become Bok-gu's [Jung Ji-Hoon/Bi's character] center of attention and together, they fall in love -- but unfortunately, it is a heartbreaking and fateful love that cannot take place.

After gaining popularity by appearing in "Beautiful Life/Sweet Life/Wonderful Life" with Lee Byung-Hun, Shin Mina also took part in several movies, "Sad Movie" "Yah Soo Wah Mi Nyuh ". It has been said that Shin Mina originally was looking at more movie opportunities, but when she read the synopsis for "This Love That I Could Kill", her interest was peaked.

RAIN: Yes, uh… I will be a k-1 fighter. And later I’ll be uh… in the turmoil of some misunderstanding, I’ll betray my brother and take revenge on his woman. Kang, BokGu is the name of the character I’ll play.
Shin: Yes. I’ll be Cha, EunSeok, an actress who regards love as the most important thing.

Kim Sa-Rang, part of KBS "This Love That I Want to Kill" Three-Way Relationship

Talent/celebrity Kim Sa-Rang will be in a three-way relationship/love-triangle with Bi.

Kim Sa-Rang will appear in KBS 2TV's "This Love That I Want to Kill" [scriptwriter Lee Kyung-Hee, PD Kim Kyu-Tae] and will be involved in a three-way relationship with Bi and Shin Mina.

Kim Sa-Rang's character originally grew up with K-1 Fighter Bok-Gu [played by Bi] as children in a foster home/orphanage and have a close relationship in this matter.

From an early age, Bok-Gu was popular with the ladies, and Kim Sa-Rang's character tried in earnest to keep him close by. However, her efforts went so far that she sacrificed her own well-being in order to save Bok-Gu from a fire he started in the past. Sa-Rang's character has visible burns on her face.

In order to completely adapt to her character for this role, Kim Sa-Rang is also currently practicing the Kyung Sang Do Saturi dialect. Both Kim Kyu-Tae and Lee Kyung-Hee are from Kyung Nam and have been able to lend her their assistance. Also, whenever Kim Sa-Rang talks with Kim Kyu-Tae, they try their best to speak in the dialect.

According to drama/KBS representatives, Kim Sa-Rang "will have to sport visible burn marks on her face in order to represent her character. For a female actress, this will be a unique and different task. Kim Sa-Rang is putting a great deal of effort into this role to prove her worth as an actress."

"This Love that I Want to Kill" will air after "Wedding" in November.

Q: Your feelings about being an action hero for the first time?
RAIN: It’s difficult, and I get hurt a lot. But, I think this will be a very new thing to the viewers, and also be an entertaining drama. Ah! And I will try hard to make this drama for you to have happy time in this winter.

Q: How would you describe Kang BokGu the character you play?
RAIN: This time..Um. It is a street fighter, so to speak. He is kind of a born-fighter whose father was a mobster. But the character is not a properly trained fighter. He just fights with what he is good at. Anyways, the drama will be very interesting. Naturally, I am not doing if it is not interesting…(Laughs)

Q: Your comparison of Sangdoo, Youngjae and Kang, Bokgu?
RAIN: Well, Youngjae in full House was…really introverted, very cute and very sweet. But this Kang, Bokgu is very tough, manish, dedicated lover, and protects his lover with everything he has. A real melodrama hero will he be.
Reporter: I envy her…
RAIN: Well, you don’t need to…

Q: How did you manage to show tears for the scenes?
RAIN: Every emotional scene has to be truthful, I think. Even during the acting, I have to know how I should respond to the situation. When I let my body and mind go with the flow, it gets easier to concentrate on the emotional scenes. To be truthful is the best way, I think.
Reporter: What was the today’s filming about?
RAIN: Yes…today’s is a hospital scene. My brother becomes a vegetable. So, we filmed that, and I must go to the set to film other scenes.
Reporter: You look thinner due to the busy schedule.
RAIN: (makes a funny face to show his becoming thinner) (laughs)

Official drama title announced in HK concert!

The official English title of Rain's new drama was announced today in the RainyDay Concert in Hong Kong on Oct 8, 2005. Rain closed his first show with a notice about his new TV appearance on a Korean drama which is finally titled "A Love To Kill".

Meanwhile, KBS2's "A LOVE TO KILL" is scheduled to hit Korean TV this October 31 at 9.55pm.

หลังจากนั้น ทั้งสองโดนจับได้ว่าลอบพบกัน Yungamo โดนลงโทษ แต่นายหญิงลดโทษให้โดยให้เธอเตรียมตัวเต้นรำต่อหน้าพระพักตร์ในวันฉลอง

ทางด้านหลานของกษัตริย์กำลังต่อสู้อย่างดุเดือดกับศัตรู

Mokrasu เหม่อมองดูท้องฟ้า และเหมือนมีอะไรดลใจให้เดินไปในป่า ที่นั่นเขาพบกล่องใบหนึ่ง ที่กล่องสลักข้อความว่า “กษัตริย์จะให้กำเนิดแก่ความโศกเศร้า ความโศกเศร้าจะก่อเกิดปัญญา ผู้ที่กอปรด้วยปัญญาจะส่องประกายเจิดจ้า ผู้ที่จุดตะเกียงดวงนี้จะเป็นผู้นำพาประเทศสู่ความยิ่งใหญ่” Mokrasu พึมพำข้อความบนกล่องอยู่คนเดียว

ในวังกษัตริย์กำลังเดินอยู่ด้านนอกเมื่อเหลือบไปเห็น Yungamo กำลังเต้นรำอยู่ กษัตริย์ตรงเข้าไปหาเธอและนำเธอเข้าห้องไป ทหารติดตามรู้สึกไม่พอใจการกระทำของกษัตริย์ และยังมีผู้อื่นลอบเห็นการกระทำนี้อีกด้วย

“ฝ่าบาท มีข่าวลือว่าระหว่างที่เรากำลังเตรียมการแก้แค้นพระบิดา ฝ่าบาทกลับหาความสุขกับหญิงเต้นรำ เรื่องนี้หากเป็นความจริง เราจะไปพบบรรพชนได้อย่างไร” ขุนนางผู้หนึ่งคาดคั้นกษัตริย์
กษัตริย์ปฏิเสธข่าวนั้น แต่ผู้คนก็ยังพูดเรื่องนี้อยู่

ในที่สุด Yungamo โดนขุนนางจับตัวไปสอบสวนบังคับให้รับความจริงว่าได้ค้างคืนกับกษัตริย์จริงๆ เธอได้แต่สั่นหัวไม่อาจพูดความจริงออกมาได้ ทหารคนหนึ่งออกมาคุกเข่าและว่าเขาหลงรัก Yungamo มานานแล้วแต่เธอไม่รับรัก และสมยอมว่าเขาเป็นคนที่เข้าไปหาเธอในคืนนั้น องครักษ์ได้โอกาสจึงแทงทหารผู้นั้นตาย ก่อนที่จะหันไปแทง Yungamo ก็โดนห้ามไว้ก่อน เธอจึงรอดตาย แต่ถูกลงโทษไปทำงานหนักในครัว

ต่อมา Yungamo ออกเดินทางตามหา Mokrasu ที่ Ajagoori Mokrasu บอกเธอว่าเขาต้องการทิ้งทุกอย่างเพื่ออยู่กับเธอ Yungamo โกรธว่า Mokrasu อ่อนแอและว่าเธอไม่ต้องการแต่งงานกับเขาแล้ว

3 เดือนต่อมา Mokrasu นำเสนองานประดิษฐ์แก่โอรสองค์โตของกษัตริย์และได้รับคำชมเชย เขามาตามหาYungamo จึงรู้ว่าเธอถูกลงโทษทำงานครัว

Yungamo บอกกับองครักษ์ว่าเธอตั้งท้อง องครักษ์ตกใจมากและกำชับให้เธอเก็บเรื่องนี้เป็นความลับ องครักษ์สั่งลูกน้องให้ไปหา Yungamo แสดงตัวว่าเป็นสามีของเธอ ทำทีว่าจะพาเธอหนี และให้จัดการฆ่าปิดปากเธอเสีย

ด้าน Mokrasu พยายามมาขอคืนดีกับ Yungamo แต่เธอไม่ยอม และว่าเธอรอเขาไม่ไหวและแต่งงานกับคนอื่นไปแล้ว ตกกลางคืนทหารที่รับเป็นสามี Yungamo พาเธอหนีและหลอกให้เธอกินอาหารที่มียาพิษ Mokrasu บุกเข้ามาพอดีและช่วยเธอออกมา Mokrasu ขอร้องให้เธอแต่งงานกับเขา

Yungamo มาเข้าเฝ้ากษัตริย์เพื่อบอกว่าเธอตั้งท้อง เธอเล่าให้กษัตริย์ฟังว่ามีคนพยายามฆ่าเธอ และเธอต้องการรู้ว่ากษัตริย์เป็นคนสั่งการใช่หรือไม่ กษัตริย์ได้มอบสร้อยให้กับเธอ และว่าสร้อยนี้จะแสดงสถานะลูกว่าเป็นเจ้าชายของ Baekjae ให้รับไว้และหนีไปเสีย สร้อยนี้อาจเป็นดาบสองคมกับเธอและลูก แต่ขอให้หนีไปก่อน กษัตริย์ได้กล่าวขอโทษ Yungamo ว่าตนเองและราชวงศ์อ่อนแอเกินไป ไม่สามารถปกป้องเธอและลูกได้

จบตอน 1

ตอน 2
กษัตริย์ได้มอบสร้อยสัญลักษณ์ของเจ้าชายแก่ Yungamo และสั่งให้เธอมอบแก่ลูกหากเป็นลูกชาย หากเป็นลูกสาวให้ฝังสร้อยทิ้งเสียไม่ให้ใครเห็น พร้อมทั้งกล่าวขอโทษนางที่พระองค์ไม่สามารถปกป้องนางและลูกได้

ด้าน Mokrasu ออกตามหา Yungamo แต่นางออกเดินทางจากไปแล้ว Mokrasu จึงได้แต่เข้าร่วมพระราชพิธีแต่งตั้งเขาเป็นนักประดิษฐ์อาวุโส

12 ปีต่อมา
เด็กๆ 2-3 คน กำลังซ่อนตัวในพงหญ้า เด็กน้อยจางโผล่ออกมา เรียกเสียงฮือฮาให้กับเด็กๆ ในกลุ่ม จางกล่าวว่า “แน่อยู่แล้ว ข้าต้องทำได้ พวกเจ้านึกว่าข้าเป็นใคร ถึงข้าจะไม่มีพ่อ แต่ข้าคือจาง ลูกมังกร” ที่แท้จางและเด็กๆ เข้ามาขโมยเครื่องประดับตามคำสั่งของนักเลงหัวไม้ 2 คน แต่แล้วกลับโดนนักเลงตลบหลังไม่ยอมแบ่งส่วนแบ่งให้ กลับซ้อมเด็กๆ และสั่งให้ไปขโมยบ้านอื่นอีก นักเลงขู่จางว่าถ้าไม่ทำจะแจ้งตำรวจว่าจางและแม่ใช้ป้ายประจำตัวปลอม และยังกล่าวดูถูกจางว่าไม่มีพ่อ ก่อนที่นักเลงจะลงมือกับจางอีก แม่ของเขาคือ Yungamo ก็ปรากฏตัวขึ้นพร้อมร้องห้าม

เมื่อกลับบ้านจางโดนแม่ลงโทษโดยตีด้วยไม้เรียว จางได้แต่ถามแม่ว่า “ แม่...แม่เป็นนักโทษหนีคดีหรืออย่างไร หรือแม่เป็นชาว Silla ทำไมเราต้องหนีหัวซุกหัวซุนตลอดเวลา เราต้องโดนรังแกจากนักเลงตลอดเวลาเพราะใช้ป้ายประจำตัวปลอม แม่บอกข้าเถิด แม่เป็นฆาตกรหรือ”
“ไม่ใช่หรอกลูก”
“ถ้าเช่นนั้น พ่อข้าเป็นฆาตกรใช่มั้ย”
“เจ้ากล้าดีอย่างไรจึงพูดเช่นนั้น”
”ถ้างั้นเป็นอย่างไรแน่ แม่ไม่เคยบอกข้าเรื่องพ่อเลย คอยแต่หลอกข้าว่าข้าเป็นลูกมังกร แล้วก็หนีไปวันๆ”
“แม่ทำเช่นนี้เพื่อปกป้องลูกนะจาง”
“ไม่ ข้าไม่ต้องการ ข้าจะหาเงิน และไปที่ Chunchooku เมื่อถึงที่นั้นเราจะไม่ต้องเร่ร่อนอีกต่อไป ข้าจะทำในสิ่งที่ข้าต้องการ”

จางวิ่งออกนอกบ้าน เขาวางแผนกับเพื่อนๆ ไปแก้แค้นนักเลงโดยยิงลูกไฟเข้าใส่จนเกิดระเบิดควันขึ้น เด็กๆโดนไล่จับโดยตำรวจ พร้อมทั้ง Yungamo และนักเลงทั้งสอง Yungamo ร้องขอว่าทั้งหมดเป็นความผิดของนางที่สั่งสอนลูกไม่ดี ขอให้ลงโทษนางคนเดียว นางโดนเฆี่ยนเป็นการลงโทษ

เมื่อกลับบ้านจางมาทำแผลให้แม่ Yungamo ตัดสินใจส่งจางไป Daehaksa (สถาบันวิทยาการของ Baekjae) ในเมืองโดซอง นางบอกลูกชายว่าที่นั้นเป็นโรงเรียนที่ดี แม่ก็เติบโตมาในสถานที่นั้น ที่ Daehaksa มีโรงงานผลิตอาวุธและสิ่งของที่ส่งให้ราชสำนัก ฝ่ายหญิงก็เรียนร้องรำทำเพลงเพื่อแสดงต่อหน้าพระพักตร์องค์กษัตริย์ นางบอกจางว่าเขาจะได้เรียนรู้วิทยาการหลากหลายอย่าง

นางมาส่งจางที่หน้า Daehaksa พร้อมทั้งมอบจดหมายฝากให้ Mokrasu นางบอกลูกว่า Mokrasu เป็นคนดีและเขาจะสอนสิ่งต่างๆ ให้แก่จาง จางเข้าใจผิดคิดว่า Mokrasu เป็นพ่อของเขา แต่จางก็ต้องฝันสลายเมื่อเขาได้พบ Mokrasu เขาช่างเข้มงวดและคาดคั้นจางว่าเขารู้หลักคำสอนของขงจื้อหรือไม่ รู้วิธีตีเหล็กหรือไม่ รู้หนังสือหรือไม่ เมื่อจางตอบว่าเขาเพียงอ่านออกเขียนได้เล็กน้อย Mokrasu ก็ขึ้นเสียงว่า “เจ้ากลับไปบอกแม่เจ้าว่าที่นี่เป็นสถาบันอันทรงเกียรติ มิใช่ผู้ใดก็สามารถเดินเข้ามาได้โดยง่าย เรามีหน้าที่พัฒนาวิทยาการและศิลปะของชาติ Baekjae คนที่จะมาที่แห่งนี้ต้องมีความสามารถพิเศษหรือมีแววในทางใดทางหนึ่ง นอกจากนี้ยังต้องมีวินัย ข้ามองไม่เห็นแววในตัวเจ้าเลย และยิ่งรู้จักนิสัยแม่ของเจ้า ข้าก็มั่นใจว่าเจ้าคงไม่มีวินัยเช่นกัน ดังนั้นข้าคงรับเจ้าไว้ไม่ได้” Mokrasu สั่งให้ผู้ช่วยของเขาไล่จางออกไป

ทางด้านกษัตริย์ Baekjae ประกาศว่าจะมีการตั้งรัชทายาทในเร็ววัน โดยจะแต่งตั้งน้องชายของกษัตริย์เป็นรัชทายาทคนใหม่

Mokrasu ยังครุ่นคิดถึงเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นและจดหมายจาก Yungamo อยู่ “เวลาผ่านมา...กว่า 10 ปีแล้วที่ข้าจากท่านมาโดยไม่มีคำอธิบายใดๆ และครั้งนี้ข้าก็กลับมาหาท่านอีกโดยไม่สามารถอธิบายอะไรได้เช่นกัน ข้ารู้ข้าไม่ควรขอร้องท่าน แต่ท่านได้โปรดรับเด็กคนนี้ไว้เถิด ดูแลเขา ให้เขาได้ศึกษาวิชาการ หากท่านยังมีเยื่อใยต่ออดีตของเรา โปรดรับฟังคำขอร้องของข้า บางสิ่งบางอย่างข้าไม่สามารถอธิบายได้ บางอย่างข้าไม่อาจเอื้อนเอ่ยได้”

Mokrasu นั่งจุดตะเกียงและพึมพำคำทำนายที่จารึกไว้ว่า “ผู้ที่กอปรด้วยปัญญา จะส่องประกายเจิดจ้า ผู้ที่จุดตะเกียงดวงนี้จะเป็นกษัตริย์ผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ที่จะนำพาความรุ่งเรืองมาสู่ Baekjae”

ผู้คนพากันมาหา Mokrasu เพื่อให้เขาหยุดยั้งพิธีการแต่งตั้งรัชทายาทใหม่ โดยว่าหากพระอนุชาเป็นรัชทายาทจะต้องเกิดการนองเลือดเป็นแน่ Mokrasu ปฏิเสธโดยว่าเขาเป็นข้าราชการฝ่ายวิชาการ ไม่ควรยุ่งกับการเมือง

ทางด้าน Sun หลานของกษัตริย์ สอบถามจากลูกน้องด้วยความสงสัยว่ารัชทายาทได้สิ้นพระชนม์จริงหรือไม่ เนื่องจากยังค้นศพไม่พบ Sun เกรงว่าหากรัชทายาทยังมีชีวิตอยู่ จะเป็นอุปสรรคต่อการขึ้นเป็นรัชทายาทใหม่ของพ่อตน (พระอนุชา) Sun จึงสั่งให้ลูกน้องออกตามหารัชทายาทและปลงพระชนม์เสีย

ในเมืองมีการตรวจค้นอย่างละเอียด จางเข้าไปหลบในรถลากคันหนึ่ง ซึ่งมีชายบาดเจ็บผู้หนึ่งซ่อนอยู่แล้ว ทหารพยายามเข้าตรวจค้น ทำให้คนขับห้อรถหนีจนรถพลิกคว่ำ จางพยายามช่วยชายบาดเจ็บผู้นั้น แต่เขากลับฝากจดหมายสำคัญให้จาง ว่าให้จางนำไปให้ราชองครักษ์ บอกว่าเป็นสาส์นจากรัชทายาท และว่าหากจางนำสาส์นนี้ไปมอบให้ราชองครักษ์ได้ ก็จะสามารถขออะไรก็ได้เป็นการตอบแทน

จางส่งเด็กชายคนหนึ่งเข้าไปหาราชองครักษ์ โดยสอนให้ท่องข้อความซ้ำๆ ว่าข้ามีจดหมายสำคัญที่รับมอบจากชายที่ตายไปแล้วฉบับหนึ่ง มาพบข้าที่ป่าคืนนี้ อย่าคิดจับข้า มิฉะนั้นจะไม่ได้เห็นจดหมายเลย” ราชองครักษ์และพวกสงสัยว่ารัชทายาทยังมีชีวิตอยู่ เขาออกไปพบจางตามนัด จางต่อรองกับราชองครักษ์ว่าเขาต้องการพบ Mokrasu เป็นการแลกกับจดหมาย จางต้องการให้ Mokrasu มาคุกเข่าขอโทษตน ราชองครักษ์ตกลงกับจาง แต่ก่อนที่จางจะส่งมอบจดหมายให้ กลับโดนธนูยิงบาดเจ็บจากกลุ่มที่ซุ่มฟังอยู่ จางวิ่งหนีไป

ราชองครักษ์รุดไปพบ Mokrasu เพื่อบอกเกี่ยวกับจาง เขาเชื่อว่าจางจะต้องพยายามมาหา Mokrasu อีกแน่นอน และว่าหากจางมาให้เอาจดหมายไว้เพราะเป็นจดหมายจากรัชทายาท โดยผู้ส่งสาส์นได้โดนลอบฆ่าโดยศัตรูไปแล้ว

Mokrasu สอบถามจากผู้ช่วยว่ามีผู้ใดรู้ที่พักของ Yungamo บ้าง ด้านลูกศิษย์ Mokrasu กำลังแตกตื่นเข้ามาแจ้งว่ามีอาเพทเกิดขึ้น เพราะน้ำในบ่อและไหเก็บน้ำล้วนเต็มไปด้วยฝุ่น ถ่านจุดไฟก็หายไป ผู้คนล้วนตื่นตระหนกว่าเป็นการกระทำของฝ่าย Silla หรือสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์กันแน่ Mokrasu ต้องตักเตือนให้ทุกคนสงบ และส่งคนไปตรวจสอบเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้น จากนั้นพบว่าชามโลหะล้วนมีรอยรมควันจนดำไปหมด และชามดินก็แตกร้าว Mokrasu คิดได้ว่าเป้นการกระทำต่อธาตุทั้ง 5 คือโลหะ ไม้ น้ำ ไฟ ดิน ถ้าเช่นนั้นยังขาดอีก 2 สิ่ง เขาพบว่ามีเด็กกำลังเอาไม้ปักลงที่พื้นทราย จึงสอบถามพบว่าจางเป็นคนสั่งให้เด็กทำ
Mokrasu เดินตามหาจาง จนไปติดกับดักที่จางทำไว้
“ข้าอาจจะตีเหล็กไม่เป็น ไม่มีพรสวรรค์ ไม่มีแวว แต่ข้ารู้จักธาตุทั้ง 5 ท่านคิดว่าไง ตอนนี้ข้าเหมาะสมจะเข้าศึกษาในสถาบันท่านหรือไม่”
Mokrasu ว่า “ข้ารู้แล้วว่าเจ้ามีความสามารถ ความสามารถก่อความวุ่นวาย หากคำพูดข้าทำให้เจ้าเจ็บใจ ข้าก็ขอโทษแล้วกัน ส่งจดหมายมาเถิด มันสำคัญเกินกว่าที่เจ้าคิดยิ่งนัก อนาคตของชาติขึ้นอยู่กับจดหมายนี้”
จางโยนจดหมายใส่ Mokrasu “อยากเอาก็เอาไป แต่ตอนนี้ท่านต้องเขียนจดหมายให้ข้า เขียนจดหมายถึงแม่ข้า แม่ข้าร้องไห้คิดถึงท่านมาตลอด แม่ว่าท่านหวังว่าท่านจะยอมรับในตัวข้า หากแม่รู้ว่าท่านทำกับข้าเช่นนี้ แม่ต้องเสียใจเป็นแน่ ข้าจะบอกแม่ว่าข้าหนีจากที่นี้กลับบ้านเอง แต่ท่านต้องเขียนจดหมายว่าท่านคิดถึงแม่ข้า”

ระหว่างนั้นคนของ Mokrasu ตามมาพบและช่วยเขาไว้ Mokrasu สั่งให้เอาตัวจางกลับไปที่สถาบัน Mokrasu มอบจดหมายที่เขาเขียนให้จาง ส่วนตัวเขาออกเดินทางจะไปพบราชองครักษ์ แต่ระหว่างทางกลับโดนจับตัวไว้

กษัตริย์กำลังประกอบพิธีแต่งตั้งพระอนุชาเป็นรัชทายาท แต่กลับเกิดเหตุอาเพท มีพายุรุนแรงระหว่างพิธี

จางอยู่ในห้องของ Mokrasu เขาเห็นตะเกียงวางอยู่ จึงเข้าไปอุ้มขึ้นด้วย 2 มือและวางลง แต่แล้วตะเกียงกลับจุดขึ้นเอง โดยควันเริ่มพวยพุ่งออกมา

ตอน 3
จางออกมาจากห้อง Mokrasu เดินมาในชายป่าลอบได้ยินทหารที่เตรียมการบุกสำนัก Daehaksa ประชุมกัน จางรีบมาบอก Mokrasu ให้รีบหนี ทหารเหล่านั้นถูกสั่งการโดย Buyeosun (หลานกษัตริย์ที่คิดล้มล้างบัลลังก์) เนื่องจากสำนัก Daehaksa เป็นพวกเดียวกับรัชทายาท ในที่สุดทหารบุกเข้ามาใน สำนัก Daehaksa Mokrasu พาอพยพพาผู้คนหนีทหารอย่างฉุกละหุก ระหว่างโดนไล่ล่า Mokrasu ล้มลงและตกลงในเนินเขา เมื่อฟื้นขึ้น เขาได้พบกับ Yungamo ซึ่งจากกันเป็นเวลานับ 10 ปี แต่ทั้งสองกลับอับจนในคำพูดไม่อาจเอื้อนเอ่ยอะไรออกมาได้ Yungamo ได้มอบจี้ประจำตัวของเธอซึ่งแสดงฐานะว่าเป็นคนของสำนัก Daehaksa ให้กับจาง รวมทั้งสร้อยแสดงฐานะเจ้าชายที่กษัตริย์เคยมอบไว้ และสอนจางว่าต้องเป็นคนดีแต่ไม่ได้บอกฐานะอันแท้จริงแก่จาง จางออกเดินทางไปกับกลุ่มคนของสำนัก เพื่อหลบหนีไปยังแคว้น Silla ทาง Yungamo แต่แรกคิดตัดใจไม่ร่วมเดินทาง แต่แล้วพบว่าตนยังรัก Mokrasu อยู่ไม่เสื่อมคลาย จึงออกวิ่งตามไป แต่โชคร้ายโดนกลุ่มทหารที่ลอบตามมาและโดนธนูยิงเสียชิวิต ทั้งจางและ Mokrasu ต้องมอง Yungamo ล้มลงตายโดยช่วยอะไรไม่ได้เนื่องจากเรือได้ออกจากท่าไปแล้ว

เมื่อแฝงตัวมาอยู่ในแคว้น Silla จางยังคงเป็นเด็กซุกซนเช่นเดิม เขาพลาดพลั้งโดนจับไปพร้อมกับนักโทษหนีคดีคนหนึ่ง ทางสำนักจะช่วยจางจึงนำพระพุทธรูปทองมาติดสินบนเจ้าหน้าที่ Kim Sa Heum (เป็นเจ้าหน้าที่บ้านเมืองฝ่าย Silla) เห็นฝีมือแกะสลักอันละเอียดอ่อนของพระพุทธรูป ก็พยายามสอบถามที่มาและสาวถึง Maekdosu (คนของ Daehaksa ที่มาช่วยจางตอนโดนจับ) และ Mokrasu

ตอน 4
Mokrasu ใช้ปัญญาและฝีมือการช่างทำให้ ชาวสำนักรอดพ้นจากวิกฤตได้ เขาทำกระจกทองแดงฝีมือละเอียดมอบให้ Kim Sa Huem Kim Sa Huem ประทับใจในฝีมือของ Mokrasu จึงตกลงมอบตราประจำตัวชาว Silla ให้คนในสำนักทั้งหมด และยังส่งงานจากราชสำนัก Silla ให้ Mokrasu ด้วย โดยไม่รู้ว่า Mokrasu และพวกเป็นคนของสำนัก Daehaksa

จางซุกซนซ่อนตัวไปในตู้ที่จะนำเข้าไปส่งในราชสำนัก ที่นั้นเขาได้แอบเห็นเจ้าหญิงซันวาซ้อมการร่ายรำอยู่ ในที่สุดเจ้าหญิงจับได้ว่าจางแอบดูจึงเข้ามาจูบจางเป็นการกลั่นแกล้ง จางตกหลุมรักเจ้าหญิงทันที เขากลับมาที่สำนักด้วยอาการเมารัก จางได้รับคำแนะนำจากรุ่นพี่ในสำนักชื่อ Bumsaeng ซึ่งสอนให้เขาทำขี้ผึ้งทาปากให้นำไปให้เจ้าหญิง จางรู้สึกนับถือ Bumsaeng มาก จางหาโอกาสเข้าวังไปหาซันวาแต่เขากลับโดนเธอแกล้งอีกโดยให้ทหารองรักษ์จับจางมาตีก้น

EPISODE 1: Summary

(Since this is a period drama & they use different accent plus there are many names, I may be making some mistakes, but the following is what I gathered so far. Any Korean experts out there, feel free to correct me!)

SPOILER ALERT!!!

This drama begins more than 1000 (?) years ago, during the time when Korea was made up of 3 Kingdoms. The Kingdom of Shilla and Baekjae went to war together against another nation, but Shilla betrays Baekjae and captures the King during combat. There, the King of Baekjae is executed, his head being cut off by one of Shilla slaves.

This is the reason Shilla slave bows down to the enemy's King, asking him permission to be killed, so that his own name may be written down in history. This is a shame, for a king to be betrayed and killed by a mere slave. So the King of Baekjae tells his subordinates to get revenge before he dies.

26 years later

General Sun, the present king's nephew, is spying the territory of Shilla, planning to recover the body of his grand-father. The District Lords of Baekjae are talking about this, saying that it's a shame nothing has been done till now. King Weeduk (the dead king's eldest son) and all the ministers were preparing the former King's MEMORIAL SERVICE, hoping to hear good news from General Sun, and waiting for their national pride to be restored.

Yungamo is dancing while Mokrasu is spying on her, smiling.

Later, Yungamo goes to find Mokrasu, calling him. They go outside and they whisper to each other.

Mok: How can you come like this? What if someone sees you?

Yun: Didn't you do the same thing? Who was the one spying on me while I was dancing?

Mok: You saw me?

Yun: Our mistress saw you too. That's why I got in trouble...

Mok: Really? Oh no, it's my fault!

Yun: Actually, they're selecting people to dance during King Sunghwang's Memorial Service. So I'm very nervous.

Mok: Don't be nervous. I tried to find anyone who dances as gracefully as you, and I couldn't!

Yun: Really?

Mok: I've news too.

Yun: What is it?

Mok: Tomorrow, I'm leaving to Ajagoori on an important mission.

Yun: What for?

Soon after, the lovers are caught by their superiors. Yungamo is being punished with a rod, but her mistress softens up, telling her she must dance the day after, during the MEMORIAL SERVICE, so she'll need to get herself in shape.

General Sun is battling the enemy while the king is waiting anxiously. Mokrasu was looking at the sky when he suddenly felt called by a sixth sense. He walks towards the dark forest and digs a box from the earth. He finds an incense burner inside a box. In the cover of the box, there is a carved inscription.

The shamed king will give birth to sadness; sadness will give birth to a child of mistake. However, the one born out of mistake will light up the incense, and the one who lights up this incense will become the King. The King will establish Baekjae again, and receive great honor and praise!

Mok: (Out loud.) "...the one born out of mistake will light up the incense, and the one who lights up this incense... will become the King."

King Weeduk is walking outside, followed by his court members. He sees Yungamo dancing in the night, practicing for the following day. The king goes to Yungamo and embraces her, taking her with him. His personal guard, Wangoo Moojang, is upset... Behind them, someone's watching.

Next day, General Sun brings the head of their former king. King Weeduk praises his nephew for recovering the honor of his father. But then Haedoju, one of the most powerful nobles, speaks up:

"Your Majesty! Is it true that you've spent the night with a court dancer the day before King Sunghwang's Memorial Day? I've heard such rumors... If that were the case, you'd bring more shame indeed..."

The king denies the accusation, saying that he only took a walk outside. But the people continue talking, wondering if the king can do such a dishonorable thing on such a day... Then the nobles bring Yungamo up to interrogate her.

Yungamo: I抦 Yungamo. I was behind the Court Palace practicing dancing for the Memorial Service.

Haedoju: Did you only practice?

Chilryo: Whatever you say can have irreversible consequences! So answer carefully!

Haedoju: By Heavens! Why aren抰 you talking? Someone saw you yesterday with His Majesty!

A witness comes forth, claiming that he saw her with the king. So they tell her that the only way she can live is by telling the truth. They ask her: "Is this true?!"

Yungamo keeps on shaking, unable to speak...

One of the soldiers kneels down, saying that he loved Yungamo for a long time but that she didn't reciprocate his feelings for her. Then, he says that he was the one that went to her the night before... although he didn't go all the way...

Then they ask her again: "Is this true?" After much hesitation, she responds that the man is saying the truth, and that she did spend the night with that man. At once, Wangoo Moojang takes out his sword, killing 'the man.' He was about to kill the woman also, but Haedoju stops him from doing this. After she is set free, she returns to her court. There, her mistress tells her she is no longer allowed to dance. Yungamo must do the cleaning & cooking instead, as a punishment for her shameful action.

Later, she goes looking for Mokrasu all the way to Ajagoori. There, Mokrasu tells her he has missed her so much he was about to quit everything, even his dreams of becoming a scientist for her. "Should we run away? My master gives me so much work I can't see you at all! I think I should quit my dreams of becoming a scientist since I can't concentrate!" Yungamo reprimands him saying that he is a softy, and that she doesn't like weaklings like him. He follows behind her, smiling, but she tells him in tears that she won't marry him if he continues following her.

3 moths later, Mokrasu presents his invention to Prince Aja, the King's eldest son. The prince commends Mokrasu. Mok goes looking for Yungamo and he is told that she must be in the kitchen.

Yungamo tells the king's guard that she is pregnant with the king's child. Wangoo is very alarmed. He tells her he will send someone to protect her so that she should wait for his instructions. "Keep yourself healthy and don't tell this to anyone. If you tell anyone, you'll die!"

Wangoo sends someone to go to Yungamo and act as her husband. "Then, very quietly, get rid off her. We're in a very tight situation now. No one should find this out!"

Mokrasu wants to play with Yungamo, but she isn't playing along with him.

Yungamo: I'm sorry... I can't keep my promise to marry you.

Mokrasu: What are you saying?

Yunga,p: I can't marry you...

Mokrasi: What are you talking about? Stop playing with me...

Yungamo: I couldn't wait for you... so I married someone else.

Yungamo is folding her clothes, getting herself ready to travel. Mokrasu cannot believe what he had just heard.

Later...

Yungamo: I was hoping to leave before you came, but you came already. While you were away, I started loving this man. I'm leaving to another town with him, and we'll live together.

Mokrasu: Why?

Yungamo: One day, I started to forget you... I started to love someone else...

At night, the fake husband takes her inside an inn, and he secretly signals to the housekeeper... Inside the room, he urges Yungamo to eat. She tells him she has no appetite. But the man tells her she must eat for the baby's sake, and that she must do as he tells her since he was sent to protect her. She was about to eat... when Mokrasu breaks into the room, beating up the man. He starts screaming; saying that this man must have raped her; that the woman was his and that she would have never betrayed him... When Yungamo sees the stained spoon, she realizes the food was poisoned, and she runs outside... scared.

Mokrasu follows her...

Yungamo: I must leave...

Mokrasu: You can't go like this, not like this! Why? No, how could you ever betray me? Tell me... You promised me you'd marry me. How could you do this? Please make me understand why! There must be some other reason... Right? Give me any reason... Just tell me your feelings for me were real... That without me... you wouldn't feel any joy, or sadness, or happiness... that those words were honest. Just tell me that. That's all I'm asking.

Then, I won't ask any more questions. I won't ask what happened to you... what you're going through... (Yun embraces him, breaking down) You were honest, right? Your feelings for me...

King Weeduk walks inside his room, when Yungamo comes up to him, bowing down. The King and his guard are startled...

Yungamo: I'm Yungamo, former Court Dancer... After that night, I'm expecting the king's child...

King: (To Wangoo.) Get out, don't make me repeat myself!

The king gives Yungamo a necklace for the child, an emblem for kings. "Give this to him if it¡¯s a boy. This will be the only way to prove he¡¯s a king¡¯s son. Otherwise, bury this away. I¡¯m sorry this is the only thing I can do for you¡¦¡±

Mokrasu looks for Yungamo but she has already left. He goes to a ceremony where the king gives him the title of Honorific-Scientist. The king points the 7-edged sword towards the sky. As it glows, the sword points down at Mokrasu. Mok touches the tip of the sword with his hand, saying:

¡°We will give wisdom to the world, oh Heavens.
We will give expertise to the world, oh Earth.
We will expand the arts to the world, oh Sea.
The wisdom, expertise, and the arts are all centered in the hands of man.
This is our motto and our philosophy to the world.¡±

The king: ¡°The Heavens, the Earth, and the Sea in which I reign,
are centered in the hands of man.
This is for the betterment of humanity,
With all the expertise that you shall teach,
Know that the heart of Baekjae is with you.
The following kings after me will know this too,
Bring unity to our Baekjae people,
And do not forget where your power comes from.
This I declare before everyone.¡±

Mok: ¡°I, Mokrasu, will serve the king wholeheartedly.
I will serve you as my god.
Whatever I create, I shall do it for you.
Wherever I am, I will think of you.
And I will take charge of the National Health,

12 Years Later

Children are hiding behind the bushes, waiting¡¦

Kid1: Are you sure he¡¯s in? How can he go in there?
Kid2: If he said he¡¯d do it, he does it.
Kid3: Remember the time he made the dragon fire¡¦? I¡¯d say he¡¯s in¡¦

(Jang comes out) The kids are like ¡°Wow, he made it! Awesome!¡±

Jang: Of course I did it, didn¡¯t I tell you? Who do you think I am? I may be fatherless, but I am Jang, the son of the dragon.¡±

Jang has just stolen jewels for a mob-boss. The mob-boss tells Jang and his friends that they will now be allowed to sell.

Jang asks for a 10% of the profit. Instead, he gets beat up. The boss' right-hand tells Jang:

¡°Now, go and steal this other house, understand? I think you¡¯re forgetting something here¡¦ We made the false identity plaque for you and your mother. If we open our mouth, you¡¯re both dead! That¡¯s why you should listen to us whenever we tell you something. Don¡¯t you know what kind of people carries false ID? Runaway slaves, thieves or murderers¡¦ Seeing that you don¡¯t have a father, your mother might as well be a prostitute.¡±

He tries to hit Jang again but Yungamo intervenes in a commanding voice: ¡°Do not touch a hair of him!¡±

Thief: Like mother like son. How dare you raise your voice in here! Anyway, teach your son to listen! Otherwise I will denounce you both to the authorities.

(At home, the mother is punishing Jang with a rod.)

Jang (Sitting.): Mom, are you an ex-convict? Or are you from Shilla? Otherwise¡¦ why are we moving so much? Whenever we start settling down, we move. Whenever I made a few friends, we move. Then we get victimized by bandits because of our false identity plaques¡¦ Are you a murderer like they¡¯re telling me you are?

Yun: No, Jang! No!

Jang: Then? Was my father a murderer, a fugitive?

Yun: How dare you say that!

Jang: Then what is it? You never tell me anything about my father, and you just tell me this non-sense that I¡¯m the son of the dragon, and we keep on moving!

Jang and his friends follow the bandits, and after lighting fire to arrows, he shots them towards the seats of the thugs. Small explosions go off. The children run away while the townspeople complain that those kids are troublemakers.

Kid1: How did you make an explosion?

Jang: Remember something exploded in the kitchen of your house? There was bean powder on the floor, and when it touched the fire, it exploded. I think that happens when the powder¡¯s in the air¡¦

Yungamo is arrested together with the bandits, Jang & his friends. Yungamo kneels down to the officers, saying that everything is her fault, for failing to teach her son properly. So she is been given 50 lashes, making sure Jang watches¡¦

AT THEIR HOUSE

Jang: These officers don¡¯t have mothers. How can they hit in the same spot! (Putting some herbs in his mother's wounds.) You can¡¯t say anything to the authorities about the bandits, can you? And you don¡¯t tell me why you made the false IDs. You smile while being hit¡¦ Don¡¯t you have any feelings? So mom¡¦ let¡¯s go to Chunchooku! They have great things in there. And I can study with Buddhist. They say that everyone¡¯s treated equally there.

Yun: You don¡¯t do the homework I give you. You think you¡¯ll study with Buddhist?

Jang: I should become Buddha. Then, I wouldn¡¯t have to study; others would study me instead.

Yun: Jang¡¦

Jang: What? We¡¯ll move again?

Yun: No, this time, you move. I¡¯ll stay. Although I did this to protect you, if we keep on moving like this, we¡¯ll be abused again by those types of thugs, and I know how terrible that must be for you, and how damaging to your pride. I was wrong, I don¡¯t think I can raise you up properly on my own.

But Jang¡¦ You must be brought up properly. You have to become a great man. Go to Taehaksa (School of Science).

Jang: School of Science?

Yun: It¡¯s in Savisong. That¡¯s where all the army weapons and all the Court supplies are made. They teach you how to play instruments and how to dance.

Jang: You learnt to dance there?

Yun: Yes¡¦ I too grew up being punished with rods, while learning to dance.

Jang: They punish you with rods there?

Yun: But there¡¯s more than that. Whenever my lips dried for dancing too long, there was a good person that would put ointment on my lips. We would dance during National Holidays.

Jang: But¡¦ I don¡¯t want to learn to dance.

Yun: I danced. But you can do other things. It¡¯s only because you¡¯re with peddlers you get in trouble for making dragon fires and small powdered explosives. When you go there, these are all commendable things. People will praise you for them. (Really?) Of course¡¦ That man will surely praise you for these. That man will raise you up properly. (She hugs Jang.)

In front of the School of Science:

Yungamo gives a letter for Jang to give to Mokrasu. She tells him Mokrasu is a great man so he should listen to him and earn his respect. Her only wish is for Jang to earn the respect of Mokrasu.

Jang: He¡¯s my father, right?

Yun: What?

Jang: He¡¯s my father, isn¡¯t he?

Yun: No, I¡¯m telling you he¡¯s not...

Jang: Then why do you cry every time you mention him? He¡¯s my father, right?

Yun: Go now, someone will be coming for you. So follow him.

Jang: I¡¯m asking you if he¡¯s my father!

Yun: You¡¯ll be able to come home twice a year so don¡¯t think of me, OK? Just listen to Master Mokrasu. (She leaves)

Jang: I learnt a little from mother¡¦

Yun: Go tell your mother that the School of Science is not a place where anyone can just walk in like that. This is a place to develop the arts and the culture of Baekjae. So anyone here must have special talents and show potentials. And on top of those talents, he must have character and discipline. But I see no potentials in you, and knowing your mother, I see neither discipline nor character. That¡¯s why there¡¯s no way I can take you in here.

(To his assistant.) Have I ever shown any favoritism towards people I know? If you want to do that, get out of this school! And expel this child. RIGHT NOW!!!

Jang keeps telling them there is something he needs to find out¡¦ but he is expelled from there, and he is not allowed to go in anymore.

The king declares that soon there will be a New Crown Prince Ceremony, where his younger brother will become his successor.

Inside a room, Mokrasu is thinking about the letter. Yungamo¡¯s voice: ¡°It¡¯s been more than 10 years already since I¡¯ve left you without explaining myself to you. And once again, I come to you without any explanation, asking you what I should not ask. Please take charge of this boy. Let him grow up well in the School of Science. If you still have any feelings left from our past, any regrets¡¦ please listen to my request. There are things I cannot explain, things I shouldn¡¯t speak about, that are even worse than the bow I had to break to you and to myself. Please know this¡¦¡±

Mokrasu is lighting up the ¡®burner,¡¯ thinking¡¦ (¡¦ the one born out of the mistake will light up the incense, and the one who lights up this incense will become the king. The king will establish Baekjae again, and receive great honor and praise!)

People are urging Mokrasu to stop the New Crown Prince Ceremony somehow. The prince¡¯s body was not found yet, and if the king¡¯s brother becomes king, there will be lots of bloodshed.

Mokrasu: We scientist are not politicians. We¡¯re not supposed to be moved by the power struggles. We must just think of Baekjae as a whole.

General Sun: Are you sure the Aja's dead?

Heukjipyung (Sun's Bodyguard): Yes.

Sun: Then how come his body¡¯s not found? If he happens to be alive¡¦ what¡¯s the point of my father going through that ceremony? Even if he¡¯s not alive, if the rumors persist that he¡¯s alive somewhere, that¡¯ll be damaging¡¦ Besides, Wangoo thinks the prince is still alive. We must find the courier that went looking for the prince. If the prince¡¯s alive, we must kill him. And kill all the messengers.

There are lots of search going on, very meticulous. Jang hides himself inside a cart that is entering the Palace. An injured man is hiding inside also. The soldiers are intending to search the cart but the driver runs away. Soldiers follow the cart, killing the driver. The cart falls down a hill.

Jang is trying to help the injured man who was hiding inside. He gives Jang a letter, telling him to give it to the king's guard, a message from the crown prince. ¡°If you do this, he¡¯ll do anything you ask.¡± He dies.

Jang asks a boy in the street if he can read. (Yes) He beats up the boy, and forces him to go to Wangoo, saying: ¡°I have a very important letter for you given to me by a dying man. Come behind the forest to meet me tonight. Don¡¯t think of arresting me. If you do, you won¡¯t be able to read the letter.¡±

Wangoo asks the boy more questions but the boy keeps repeating the above lines.

One of the soldiers informs Heukjipyung about this boy and his message.
¡°Does this mean that the prince is alive?¡±

Behind the city walls, Wangoo Moojang meets Jang.

Wangoo: ¡°Who sent you?¡±

Jang: No one. I did.

Wangoo: How can you dare play like this?

Jang: I¡¯m not playing. I think you know this, that¡¯s why you came. You must know something, don¡¯t you? I hid inside a cart in order to enter the Palace. But there was someone else inside. The guards followed the cart and the man inside died. But before dying, he gave me a letter saying that it's from the crown prince.

Wangoo: Then the crown prince¡¯s alive! Give me that letter!

Jang: Not yet. The messenger told me you¡¯d do anything I ask if I give this letter to you.

Soldier: Are you trying to bargain with the King¡¯s Guard? Do you want us to take all you have by force? Give that letter right now!

Jang: Alright, you may take away all I have but you won¡¯t have the letter. The man said the letter's valuable so do as I ask!

Wangoo: OK, what do you want?

Jang: You know Master Mokrasu the scientist? (yes¡¦) Make him kneel down before me. (Really? Why?) This is between one man to another, so don¡¯t ask any more questions.

Wangoo: (Amused.) One man to another? OK, I can bring Mokrasu to you, but I can¡¯t make him kneel down to you. You do that. (OK.) Now, give me that letter.

Jang: Bring Mokrasu to me first.

Wangoo: I¡¯m a man too. You must believe my words.

Jang: I can¡¯t believe you.

Wangoo: (To soldier.) Bring Mokrasu to us! Hurry!

Jang was going to give him the letter but an arrow is shot. Spies were behind, and the 2 boys run away.

Wangoo tells Mokrasu that a boy of around 10 years of age was looking for him. ¡°I¡¯m pretty sure he¡¯ll come looking for you. That boy¡¦ he has the crown prince¡¯s letter.¡±

Mok: The prince¡¯s alive?

Wangoo: The messenger was killed by the opposition. And if he comes to you, get that letter from the boy!

General Sun is informed of the situation too. Heukjipyung promises Sun that he'll find the boy before the others.

Mokrasu (To his assistant.): Have you seen that boy after the other day? (No.) Do you know where Yungamo lives. (No.)

Assistant 2: Master, something awful has happened!! (All the waters from the well and the jars, everywhere is full of dust. And all the burning coals were off.)

Mokrasu finds a boy hammering wood sticks in the sand. The boy tells him he is just following instructions. ¡°Did you do everything else also?¡±

Boy: No, the boy named Jang beat me up, and told me to stick these in here!

Mok: Where is he?

Boy: He said you¡¯d know!

Mokrasu goes near the trees and he steps on Jang¡¯s trap.

Jang: I may not have skills to work with metal, nor talents or potential, but I know the five elements. What do you think? Don¡¯t you think I¡¯m qualified to be in the Science School?

Mok: I see you have skills now. Skills to do vandalism. If I¡¯ve hurt you with my words before, I apologize. Now, let me down and give me the letter you carry. That letter¡¯s a lot more important than you think. The country¡¯s future¡¯s at stake.

Jang: (Throwing the letter at Mokrasu.) I can give you this type of letter anytime! But now, you must write another one for me. I¡¦ I¡¯ll think I don¡¯t have a father¡¦ I¡¯ll live thinking this way, but you must write me a letter for mother. My mom cried thinking of you. She told me her only desire was for me to gain your respect. If she finds out you mistreated me like this, I¡¯d feel too sorry for her. So I¡¯ll tell her I ran away from here. But write me a letter saying that you miss her!

Men find Mokrasu, and they try to punish Jang. Mokrasu (giving a small note he wrote to Jang) tells them it¡¯s his fault, and to take the boy inside the Science School.

Mokrasu is going to see the King¡¯s Guard. But he¡¯s captured on the way.

The Celebration for the New Crown Prince is on-going. The king prays to the gods asking the heavens to allow the crowning of a new prince. The king¡¯s brother touches the tip of the 7-edged sword. But a storm breaks out, throwing everyone off.

Jang enters inside Mokrasu¡¯s office. He looks at the ¡®incense burner,¡¯ holding it with both his hands. He is looking elsewhere, putting the burner down. The incense starts burning¡¦

How To Play Christmas Sheet Music

The secret to playing Christmas sheet music is to make the melody prominent, get some rhythm happening underneath and bang out some chords to support the harmony of the song. And, while that may seem like a fairly simple concept, for most pianists it takes some practice. Here are some ideas that may help you.

First let’s start with the melody. I think for some reason many musicians forget that the melody is the most important thing. I’ll never forget this one time early on in my career when I got a gig with some prominent local jazz musicians. It all started out ok, but eventually we got into some tunes where I didn’t know the melody very well. I was playing all kinds of way out improve and the bass player turned to me and said, “Hey man, just play the flippin melody!”

It was kind of embarrassing that’s for sure. Anyway, I never forgot that and to this day I always put the melody before anything else. What does that mean? It means to get the melody right and make it the most prominent part of your playing.

The next thing to go along with your melody is rhythm. It’s so important that your playing has some feel to it. So often, pianists focus on getting the notes right and therefore lack the rhythm and feel of the music. If you can, play your music along with the radio or a recording. That will help you develop some feel.

Feel comes from playing with others. It comes from bassists, drummers and other instrumentalists. Even now when I’m playing solo piano concerts I can hear the drums and bass in my head and that will be very evident in my left first and sometimes in the right hand as well with rhythmic chords.

And, speaking of chords, you cannot forget to add a good dose of rich chord structures to your playing. Very often Christmas sheet music has chord symbols on it and you can take your lead from those symbols.

If you don’t know how to read chord symbols here’s a simple rule. If you see a simple triad chord symbol such as “G”. That means it’s a G major triad or 3-note chord. First plunk down a G then a major third above which is a “B” then a minor third above that which is a “D.”

For minor chords the intervals are inverted. A minor interval first then a major interval on top of that. Then if you want to get really fancy add sevenths to your chord voicings. For example; if you see a G7 chord symbol that mean a major triad with another minor third stacked on top. In others word the chord would be in order from bottom to top; G, B, D and F.

If you see a Gmaj7 chord symbol it’s the same as a G7 chord except the top note is an F# instead of an F. Or, think of it as a G major triad with another major third stacked on top.

The only other chord symbol is a minor seventh chord or G-7. This would be played as a G minor triad with a minor seventh stacked on top or; G, Bb, D and F.

While this may seem like a fairly simple approach to playing chord symbols it covers at least 85% of all Christmas sheet music. There are other chord symbols which you may come across from time to time but, like I said, that’s pretty much it.

So, when practicing Christmas sheet music play the melody prominently and correctly in the right hand, add some rhythmic feel to it and drop in a good helping of chords to back up the harmony of the song. Christmas sheet music will never sound the same again.

After yet another failed attempt to forge a multilateral deal on global trade issues at July's WTO meeting, the United States was quick to take actions to protect its trade welfare. Seeing that time is a crucial factor, the US government grabbed the immediate weeks post-July fiasco to secure trade stability with the whole of Asia. The US government practically used the whole month of August to forge win-win deals with its Asian trade partners. Keen on targeting the bull's eye, negotiations with global trade giant China is a top priority. Earlier on, a deal with ASEAN and a vital Memorandum of Understanding with the Philippine government were signed.

Since compromise among collective economies proves too elusive as of the moment, US sent trade envoy Susan Schwab to do one-to-one talks with Asian economies. Schwab's first mission is to start negotiations with China on matters of agricultural and manufacturing trade. Schwab is scheduled to have a number of talks with her Chinese counterparts, Minister of Commerce Bo Xilia and other Chinese global trade experts, in the hope of establishing a bilateral agreement between the two economic giants. Schwab's visit to China was for two vital agenda: to widen trade liberalization and the trade surplus dispute.

The main glitch of the WTO talks is the failure of first world countries and developing countries to arrive at a concession on how to liberalize global trade. First-world countries like the US and EU demand that developing countries open up their economic doors wider than their current latitude. First-world economies want lesser barriers for manufactured goods and drastic reforms in agriculture sector. In turn, developing countries demand first-world economies to cut their agricultural subsidies and reduce tariff rates imposed on imported goods entering first world markets. The gridlock comes from the question of who should take the first move. Both parties appear to be not having enough willingness to take the first step. The first-world block cannot even agree on themselves on how much compromise are they willing to make, making the other block hesitant and doubtful of the first worlds' sincerity.

Schwab's first agenda in China is to establish wider US-China market openness. US recognizes the great potential of China's booming economy on making great turns in the global trade. China's economic policies can spell a big difference on how American and European economies will perform. Schwab's visit is geared on establishing constructive engagement so China will take interests of the global trade as a prime consideration in its economic policies. Schwab's second agenda is to settle trade surplus issues that has been upsetting the US market.

Earlier on, in August 25, Schwab joined the economic heads of ASEAN in signing the US-ASEAN Trade and Investment Framework Arrangement (TIFA). The TIFA is an accord which further solidifies the steadfast trade relationship between ASEAN members and the US. Through FTA, direct investment from the US is expected to get even higher than the previous years' multi-billion amount. With FTA, multilateral comprehensive dialogues will be easier to undertake and progressive results are more likely to materialize. For the side of US, the FTA is aspired to lead both parties in constructively engaging in measures to further deepen their agricultural and manufacturing relations, something important for both parties' global trade welfare. A wider, more productive market access is the main goal of the FTA.

Two days prior to FTA signing, August 23, Schwab signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Philippine's Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Favila on strengthening their trade relationship. Intellectual property agreements, direct investments, and global trade matters are the main points of the signed MOU. Schwab is still scheduled to visit other Asian countries like Thailand and Singapore in hopes of securing more trade deals. Asia, being one of US's biggest global trade partner, is a crucial market for US economy.

Stay Debt Free This Xmas - Top 10 Tips

Xmas can be a financially stressful time for many people and that takes the fun out of the festive season. The funny thing about Xmas is it occurs every year and at the same time every year! So with a little bit of planning you can take the stress out and stay debt free.

Here are my Top 10 tips to get you on you way:

Tip 1. PLAN

Write a list of the friends and family members you wish to give a present to. Next decide on your total budget for Xmas presents. Next to each name add a maximum dollar value for the gift and ensure the total does not exceed you budget!
If you have ideas for gifts start listing them now – it will help your shopping trips be more focused.

Tip 2. STICK TO THE PLAN

When you do your gift shopping stick to the plan – avoid impulse buying. That stereo might be a great “bargain” but if it is over your budget you need to keep walking.

I am sure you have great taste in gifts – do you ever buy a gift for someone and buy it for yourself as well? You will get plenty of gifts for Xmas – no need to buy for yourself as well.

Tip 3. START NOW

Rather than waiting until 2 weeks before Xmas and spending all your money in a short period of time start buying now. It is much easier to afford one gift each payday than 10 all at once. Find a good hiding place in your cupboard!

Tip 4. USE LAY-BY

Credit Cards are easy and convenient but if you struggle with debt over Xmas leave them at home! Interest rates on unpaid monthly balances are an unnecessary cost. If you have started shopping early you can pay a small amount each payday off your lay-by without going into debt. Keep you spending manageable.

Tip 5. HAVE A SAVING PLAN

Have a separate bank account for Xmas savings. Many banks have accounts that earn “bonus” interest if you make a deposit and no withdrawals in a month. Many of these accounts have no bank fees. You can arrange for set amounts to be automatically transferred to that account each payday. If you don’t see it you can’t spend it!
If you are comfortable banking online there are also good “virtual” accounts with Credit Unions that pay around 5%pa and allow you to transfer money out of account with no penalty.

Tip 6. THINK OUTSIDE THE SQUARE

It really is the thought that counts so think outside the square. People love gifts that have a personal touch to them.

- make Xmas chocolates, cookies, jam etc to give to friends

- give a gift voucher for 10 hours of babysitting

- make a donation to charity in their name

- give a voucher for 5 lawn mowing afternoons (to be provided by you)

Tip 7. INVOLVE YOUR FAMILY

Discuss your plan to stay debt free with your family and discuss ways that the whole family can be involved. There are no rules – find something that works for your family and keeps Xmas fun.
One popular idea is to not buy gifts for all the adults in the family – just the kids. The adults each select a name and buy a gift for that adult on behalf of the whole family. Xmas is about love and sharing not about how many presents you receive.
You will probably find other family members feel relieved to be able to reduce their Xmas spending too.

Tip 8. ANOTHER COFFEE?

Start becoming aware of what you spend on “little extras” each week – coffee is my favourite place to start. Buying just 1 coffee a day can cost you $10 - $15 per week … buying lunch each day at work can cost you at least $25 per week. I think you get the point.

If you are serious about keeping out of debt this Xmas start taking your lunch to work or having instant coffee …. put the money you save into your Xmas account. You will love how quickly this adds up!

Tip 9. LEAVE THE PLASTIC AT HOME

That’s right – leave the Credit Card at home! If it is not in your wallet you cannot charge Xmas shopping to it. It is so easy to accumulate debt without even being aware of it – once you do it snowballs into something much greater than you can handle and becomes a weight to begin the New Year. Use cash or you debit card – you can’t spend money you don’t have.

Tip 10. BE COMMITTED

You have a choice. If you are 100% committed to being debt free for Xmas then you will make it happen. It takes focus, desire and discipline not to take the easy, convenient and expensive way out of Xmas shopping.

Princess Hours (otherwise known as Palace, its literal translation and the alternate official title, or Goong, the romanization of 궁, its Korean title) is a Korean romantic comedy/drama, which had its first season run from January 11 to March 30, 2006. It was distributed by MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation), which ran an episode on Wednesday and Thursday every week until completion. It is based on Goong (manhwa) by So-Hee Park, which has run for 12 volumes so far (as of June 2006). Due to the success of the first season, a second season is being planned for production, a rare occasion in the Korean entertainment industry. It is expected to be filmed in fall of 2006, to be shown early 2007; however, the planned storyline has changed due to the unavailability of the first season's main stars.

Synopsis

Set in an alternate reality where Korea possesses a royal family, this show revolves around the lives of the Crown Prince Lee Shin, and his new bride, Chae-Gyung. The depicted royal family in the show is modelled after the last royal family of Korea, which in reality reigned until the start of the Japanese Occupation in 1911 and was not reinstated after Japanese surrender in WW2.

The series starts off with the news that the King, Shin's father, is severely ill. With the grim outlook on the King's health, the royal family scrambles to find a wife for Shin, so as to allow him to take over the royal throne if the situation requires so. Despite being in love with another girl, the ambitious and talented ballerina Hyo-rin, who Shin initially proposed to but was rejected, Shin eventually marries an average girl who he was betrothed to by his late grandfather in an old agreement with her's, the headstrong yet lovable Chae-Gyung, after he was rejected by Hyo-rin. Despite initially feeling nothing for Chae-Gyung, love eventually blossoms between the couple.

In the meantime, however, matters are further complicated with the return of Lee Yul and his mother Hwa Yeong, who was once the Crown Princess before the death of her husband the late Crown Prince, who was the older brother of the current King. Yul and his mother were chased out of the palace some time after the death of his father and her husband respectively, and it is later revealed that it was so as the King had found out about the affair between Yul's mother and Yul's uncle, the current King. Yul's mother had returned with a sinister motive in mind; to restore her son back to the throne, which would have been his eventually, if his father had not died. A flurry of events descend upon the palace with the schemes Yul's mother carries out, and is further intensified by the various scandals involving the royal family, which are inclusive of the Shin's continuing relationship with his old flame Hyo-rin, and the budding love Yul develops for Chae-Gyung, Shin's new found bride.

The first series ends with the Shin letting his elder sister Hyae Myeong ascend the throne, the 'real' marriage of Shin with Chae-Gyung in Macau, and the possibility that Chae-Gyung is pregnant with Shin's baby.

Characters

Shin Chae-Gyung

Portrayed by Yoon Eun Hye, Shin Chae-Gyung is a very effervescent, normal high school girl. She attends the same school as Lee Shin, the Crown Prince of Korea. Her grandfather was best friends with the previous King. To honor his friend, the previous King dictated that Chae-Gyung is to become the Crown Princess, which means that she is to marry whoever is the Crown Prince at the time of the marriage. Although she often seems immature and irritating, she is a kindhearted, innocent, honest person. Often called "Pig" by her younger brother, Chae-Gyung marries the prince to save her family from bankruptcy. Her initial reaction to Lee Shin is one of irritation and fear but she eventually falls in love with him.
Lee Shin

The crown prince of Korea, Lee Shin, as portrayed by model and actor Joo Ji Hoon, is seen as a smug, indifferent, insensitive young man. After getting rejected by his girlfriend when he proposes to her, he decides to go along with his elders' arranged marriage with Shin Chae-Gyung. At first, he was irritated by her naivete and enthusiasm, but as he recognizes how genuinely sweet she is, he begins to open his heart to her, and falls in love. Throughout the series, it becomes obvious that inside, he is just a sensitive, warm, kind young man. He also owns a teddy bear, the only thing that he can let his guard down for, which is used as a focal point throughout the series. As his cousin re-enters the picture after being forced out of the country many years earlier, the prince quickly butts head with him, as Lee Yul is a contender not only for the throne, but for the crown princess Chae-Gyung's love.

Kim Jeong Hoon plays Lee Yul, Shin's younger cousin. He returns from a long stay in England with his mother, a former ballerina and the widow of the former crown prince. The opposite of Shin, he is warm, kindhearted, sweet, and romantic--an instant hit with the girls. Interested in Chae-Gyung, their friendship grows to love on his side, while she remains innocently unaware of it until much later. Although the position of the Crown Prince originally belonged to him, it was given to his cousin when Yul's father died in a car accident and his mother was found to have an affair with his uncle. Originally uninterested in the throne, Yool decides to compete with Shin after falling in love with Chae-Gyung. In the end, after realizing that Chae-Gyung and Shin truly love each other, he passes up both the chance of being King and having Chae-Gyung as a wife, as he only wants her to be happy with Shin.
Min Hyo-rin

Portrayed by Sung Ji Hyo, Hyo-rin is a skilled ballerina. She is beautiful, intelligent, accomplished, humorous, polite--basically, perfect in every way possible. In the beginning, she is Shin's girlfriend, and he proposes to her. However, she rejects him, not only because she thinks he is joking, but also because she does not wish to give up her dreams of becoming a star ballerina. When she sees Chae-Gyung and Shin's wedding and how Chae-Gyung is loved by the people (similar to Princess Diana), she regrets her hasty decision, and does everything she can to oust Chae-Gyung from her position. Hyo-rin finds ways to draw Shin back to her, including a "chance" meeting in Thailand, but simply end up hurting herself. Later, however, she decides that Shin does truly love Chae-Gyung, and she ultimately gives him up and decides to just concentrate on ballet.

Hyae Myeong

Princess Hyae Myeong is the elder sister of Shin who returns from a long trip around the world after her brother's marriage. Her grandmother's trusted confidante, the adults often turn to her in times of crisis, and she often knows exactly what to do without panicking. For a princess, she dresses in a modern style--her short haircut is that of an average, stylish young woman. Shin loves his sister and recognizes her as being both kind-hearted and extremely intellectual. At the end of Season One, she becomes the ruler of Korea (the Queen with equivalent powers of a King) in her younger brother's place, allowing him to give Chae-Gyung the freedom that she has always felt deprived of while she is the Crown Princess.

Related Series

The original production team that worked on Goong 1, including director Hwang In Roe, resigned from its company, Eight Peaks, and proceeded to form a new production company, Creative Leaders Group 8. Group 8 TV had initially announced that it will begin production for the sequel to Goong 1.

However, the rights of adapting the original manhwa lie in the hands of Eight Peaks, and not Group 8. Hence, Group 8 now faces a crisis as its version of the Goong sequel, renamed to Goong S, faces a halt in production due to infringement of copyrights. With Eight Peaks intending to produce the 'real' sequel, there are thus two versions of the sequels to Goong as of now.

Season 2

The plot of Season 2 would follow closely the plot of the second Goong manhwa by So-Hee Park.

Eight Peaks has announced that preparation for the sequel Goong 2 is underway, which started in September. The cast of Goong Season 2 is unconfirmed as of now. However, Choi Kae-yung, an executive at Eight Peaks, has revealed that Kim Jeong Hoon (who plays Lee Yul) and Yoon Eun Hye (who plays Shin Chae-gyung) will return in their respective roles. The company is looking to engage all of the original main cast for the sequel.

Filming will begin soon and the company is aiming for a late 2007 or early 2008 premiere date.

Season S

The plot of Season S would be of a young worker at a Chinese restaurant who suddenly discovers that he is a member of the royal family and subsequently enters the palace. Hwang mentioned that he would be looking for Yoon Eun Hye's male counterpart, of sorts.

In October of 2006, Korean pop star Se7en was chosen to play the leading role in the second season of Princess Hours. He will play the character of "Lee Hoo", while others in the drama's second season include Huh Lee-Jae (who plays Yang Soon-Ae), Kang Doo (who plays Lee Joon), and Park Shin-hye (who plays Shin Sae-Ryung). Many of the supporting cast, including those who played the royal family, are expected to join the next season. Filming started in November 2006, and the group is aiming for a January 2007 premiere date.

The current name for the second season has changed from 'Goong 2' to 'Goong S -- Prince Hours (궁 S)', due to copyright infringement problems. Filming continues despite Group 8 facing lawsuits due to the unlawful use of 'Goong' as its film title.

Characters

Chae-Gyeong Shin A seventeen year-old Korean girl who marries the Crown Prince of Korea because of a promise between her grandfather and the late King. Innocent and naive, she is deeply affected by the loneliness of her new life and longs for home. Because of this loneliness, she starts falling for Shin, even though he acts like a jerk with her.

Shin Lee Crown prince or "Taeja-Jeonha" of Korea. He is portrayed in the beginning as arrogant and insensitive. Pressured to marry early, he accepts the choice his father and the elders give him (Chae-Gyeong) after being rejected by his girlfriend Hyorin. Shin later shows that chae is the only one that is really close to him. He also doesn't want to let her go.

Yul Lee Another prince of Korea and a cousin of Shin's. His father was the elder son of the late king, and he was born as the crown prince. However, at his father's death, the laws of succession passed the crown onto his uncle, so he and his mother left for England. After coming back the Korea, he ends up in the same class as Chae-Gyeong, and falls in love with her.

Hyo-Rin Min Shin Lee's former girlfriend. She refuses his marriage proposal saying that her dream is to be a ballerina, and that she has no intention of giving up her dream, but the real reason is revealed later on.

King Younger son of the former king, who became crown prince only at his brother's death. He loved a girl who ended up marrying his elder brother.

Queen Shin's mother and wife to the King. She knows that he still loves Yul's mother, and tries desperately to protect her own son's claim to the throne.

Queen Mother Very short lady who is just a tiny little bit perverted and happens, incidentally, to be the mother of the current King.

Yul's Mother Wife of the former King's elder son. She chose to marry him even though she loved his younger brother because of the power it gave her.

Gung Eunuch A very short, old pervert who seems to have a crush on Yul.

Chae-Jun Shin Chae-Gyeong's brother. He starts out in the story as an obnoxious kid who revels in the attention of the media accorded to his family at the event of his sister's wedding. Later he's involved romantically with Hyorin.

Chae-Gyeong's Mother Adopted at an early age by Chae-Gyeong's grandfather, and later allowed to marry his son. At the beginning of the story, she cleans in other people's house to make a living for her family.

Chae-Gyeong's Father Unemployed at the beginning of the story.

Chae-Gyeong's Grandfather An old friend of the former King whose promise to him led to Chae-Gyeong's wedding with the Crown Prince. He becomes hospitalized by the middle of the story.

Ji-An Seung Chae-Gyeong's girlfriend.

Mok-Han Seung Classmate and friend of Chae-Gyeong. Believes that she is still in love with him.

Books (Manhwa)

Book 1

Chae-Gyeong Shin is a normal high-schooler who happens to go to the same school as the Seja, or crown prince of Korea, in a fantasy, make-believe world where the Korean royalty still exists. After getting a "C" in music class, she spies the prince proposing to a girl (and getting rejected by her.) Fortunately for Chae-Gyeong, she manages to escape without having her face seen. Later that day, she goes through tortuous debates over whether to tell her friend Mok-Han about the incident or not. At the very moment where she almost blurts out everything, she is caught again by the Seja, who isn't fooled by her pretence of hiding her face away into Mok-Han's chest, and warns her to keep silent about the whole story (or else face life-imprisonment). Back at the palace, the King sends for Shin and gives him a picture of his future bride-to-be, and guess who it is? Chae-Gyeong! Shin explodes into laughter and agrees to the marriage. In the meantime, Yul comes back from England and has decides to enroll into Shin's school, ending up for some reason in Chae-Gyeong's class.

Chae-Gyeong, during this time, is having a difficult time choosing between her family's wishes (they were almost bankrupt at that point) and her own desire to choose her own path. In the end, it is the image of her mother's patched sleeve that gives her the courage to accept the proposal during an audience with the Queen. When she starts having second thoughts, it is already too late, and very soon Chae-Gyeong is forced to enter and live in the palace, learn its endless traditions and rituals, without permission of going back home. Lonely and depressed, even the sight of Shin, who had told her earlier that he would never do something as cruel as marrying (and making a puppet of) the girl he truly loved, is welcome to her; but when he finally makes his appearance, it is to simply tell her that he'd divorce her if she cannot get adjusted to palace life.
